It Is Good Akufo-Addo Became President; He Could Have Escaped As The Best Thing That Never Happened To This Country.

Having Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as your president, is what makes you know God is good. Since I was growing up, till I became an adult, Akufo-Addo, has been portrayed as the best thing to ever come out of this country.

Destiny has a strong influence in the shape of the affairs of men and nations. Theologians believe only God Almighty determines and divinely controls any outing of destiny at any phase in time and history.

Akufo-Addo, we were told was the example of how blessed this country was, he represented everything a country needs to be proud of.

We were made to believe that he could walk on water and was larger than life, and for us as a country to have the full benefit of his intellect and glory, all we had to do was make him the president of Ghana.

For him, it was a dream come true, for us as a people, he was going to be a blessing unto us, but alas when the chips finally came down, we got and are still getting to know his true character.

Akufo-Addo, is a living testimony of the saying that, to know the true character of a man, give him power.

He is among the few men in this country, who were infallible. He has never done wrong; he does no wrong and will never do wrong, this was a fallacy from his supporters.

His emergence as the winner of the 2016 presidential election, will find a lasting solution to the woes of this country, he was to set this country on the path of prosperity.

Unfortunately since January 7, 2017, when he took the oath office to begin his first term, he has betrayed the trust of his people and things are getting worse ever since he was declared by the Supreme Court albeit controversial that, he won the 2020 presidential polls.

Since the beginning of his presidency, Akufo-Addo, has blamed John Dramani Mahama, for the poor economic state of the country.

It is almost five years now, since he took office and things seem to be worse than they were during the administration of John Mahama. The blame game has continued up till today, even after serving his first term.

The president when he took the oath of office, had one choice to make, i.e. to either leave the country the way things were, when he took over power and or make it better, but he introduced his own narrative and that is to make it worse. Every campaign promise has not been fulfilled, the ones that got fulfilled were done half way and haphazardly.

The country, which was once a jewel on the African continent, since the inception of the Akufo-Addo led administration, has been raped, pillaged, looted, pauperized and abandoned to lick its sore.

The destruction of the country, has been aggressively pursued, leaving nothing for the unborn generation, the country is on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as at now.

But in all these, there is nothing that is truly happenstance, as God has permitted the country to pass through the hands of people, who only care about themselves and their families.

As a political animal by nature, I pondered on the possibility of the NPP, transforming Ghana with laudable programmes. Rather, I am reminded of the painful reality that we are facing under Akufo-Addo's regime.

Autocracy and nepotism permeate Akufo-Addo's government. It is worrisome that since coming into office, Ghana has been struggling to survive as a nation.

Akufo-Ado, I wish to ask you on behalf of well-meaning Ghanaians, what offense they committed that has warranted this unfortunate bitter experience?

Ghanaians are now afraid of their lives from the people, who have been paid to protect them. Officers of national security are running riot, with Ghanaians running scared.

Should the president say Ghanaians did not show him love by voting him into power? Should Ghanaians now blame themselves for voting the NPP into power?

If Akufo-Addo, would be kind enough to let Ghanaians know their wrongs, then, there is need to send some notable delegations of foremost traditional rulers and religious leaders, so as to pacify him with a view to coming out from this unfortunate mess, because Ghanaians can no longer bear the agony they are presently experiencing.

A great leader is someone who cares for and makes sacrifices for his people. Akufo-Addo, has not shown that he is the leader Ghanaians are seeking. He has been living an ostentatious lifestyle, he is the new Arabian king of Africa flying luxurious jets at the expense of the taxpayer, who is struggling to provide three square meals for his or her family.

Our elders have a saying that, if you can't do anything for your in-law, you do not steal from him or her.

Also, it is a British political theorist, Harold Joseph Laski, who said it is better for a country to not have a government at all, rather than a government under which the people continue to suffer.

If Akufo-Addo, had not become a president, his apologists would have told us, what an opportunity, we have missed as a country.

The voices of dissent echoing across the country, even from people, you would think are sympathetic to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a testament to the monumental failure of a man, who claims he has been in frontline politics for more than 30 years.

It may not occur to many, why Nana Akufo-Addo, contested Ghana's Presidency two times without success. From 2008, 2012; but eventually God anointed him the leader of Ghana during the third attempt in 2016.

The times that he contested and lost, was supposed to teach him a lesson and afford him the opportunity to go round the country once again, to fully appreciate the enormity of the problems confronting Ghanaians.

God thought on his third attempt that, he knows our problems and have the solutions, not knowing all that he did, was to consolidate his selfish ambition and agenda.

Ghana is not for one tribe, much less one family, but Akufo-Addo, has made sure only his kinsmen have the right to enjoy our collective heritage.

God works in mysterious ways indeed, at least we can now tell what a monumental failure Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is.
