Nana Akufo-Addo Is The Harry Potter Of Ghana Politics Nana Akufo-Addo Is The Harry Potter Of Ghana Politics

In case you are wondering who Harry Potter is "Harry Potter is a series of fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The novels chronicle the lives of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry".

The only difference is Harry Potter is a fictional character, whiles Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is real and the president of Ghana.

While, Harry Potter, waves a magic wand and can make things appear or disappear, President Akufo-Addo, uses words to make his insipid dreams magically appear.

I still trying to wrap my head around the fact that, despite the massive infrastructure rolled out by president John Dramani Mahama, across the then ten regions of this country, Akufo-Addo, could use words to defeat him by a landslide.

What is said does not matter, what matters, is the one saying it. Two people can say the same things, but one is believed than the other and that unfortunately is what happened in 2016 between Akufo-Addo and John Mahama.

I have lived with the impression that, seeing is believing, the works of President Mahama, are not a figment of his or anyone's imagination, but are tangible, as well as visible. For years to come, the debate as to how, words meant so much to us than reality, will be debated.

It is my wish that one day, it be possible for a political researcher to unravel the mystery, and the trick Akufo-Addo, used to convinced Ghanaians, to vote for his promises, that to a large extent only look good on paper, but in reality cannot be fulfill.

If you are someone who believes in fairy tales and make believe, Akufo-Addo, will be your best president of all time, but we don't live in that world where your insipid dreams magically appear, because someone waves a magic wand.

The rallying cry across the nation is that, king promise, has been a monumental failure. Akufo-Addo, is expected and rightly so, to outperform all the presidents, we have had since Independence, he is perhaps the luckiest president in the history of this nation. Not only has he natured the dream of becoming president, he was left with a country that had taken off the tarmac. He took over at the time, Ghana, was about to take-off, after many years of pussy-footing.

John Dramani Mahama, who was the bulldozer, had already cleared the way for him. All the major infrastructure development, have already been taken care, all he had to do was to come and enjoy his presidency.

President Mahama, when he took over from the late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, admitted that, the country was almost on the brink of collapse, the meat had been eaten, what was left was the bone.

Despite the challenges, he rode the storm and as a good captain he led the country through turbulent times, even when the decisions he took, was going to cost him electorally.

President Akufo-Addo, started well on that note, when despite claims of inheriting a broke economy, he appointed 126 ministers. If there was no money to pay these people, he wouldn't have started with the huge number of appointees. calls and pleas for him to reconsider the elephant sized government, have fallen on deaf ears.

Harry Potter, who lived in a fantasy world, had the free will to do as he wishes, he commanded and it was granted, president Akufo-Addo, on the other hand, must recognize that, he is governing people, who are real and that, he cannot do as he wishes and cannot command and people will start falling on each other, as this country is govern by rules.

President Akufo-Addo, has arguably outperformed his predecessors in the abuse of the presidential power to hire. His blind and arbitrary generosity with cabinet seats is one reason why the Ghana he governs resembles King Solomon's portrayal of a chaotic society.

Harry Porter needs his glasses to see well and command, the same glass President Akufo-Addo, has, except I don't know if he needs it to also see.

Leading people as complex, with varied needs as ours is not a tea party. You cannot wave a magic wand for things to happen, it requires thinking through every decision and action, and stepping back where necessary to examine the effects of your decisions.

It is often said that tough times define the man, president Mahama, did not go for the easy solution, when load-shedding was at its peak, he took up the gauntlet thrown at him with an extraordinary push that has become the hallmark of his presidency. He took far reaching decisions that have made things easy for President Akufo-Addo. Today, we have stable power; that is the meaning of leadership.

Moral is key leading people, you cannot promise one thing and when given the opportunity you do the opposite.

All the accusations leveled against president Mahama, including the fact that he was corrupt and incompetent; time has exposed Akufo-Addo, as the epitome of corruption and incompetence.

He accused his predecessor and promised not to run family and friends' government, his administration is the true definition of nepotism.

President Akufo-Addo, has confused position with leadership, being a president is a position, the true worth of leadership is in our response to challenges and crisis. Crisis brings out the best or worst in our character and leadership capacity.
