When Vice-president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is at the flagstaff house, he pretends not be a Ghanaian, but as soon as he is out of the Seat of government to deliver speeches or on a campaign trail as we have seen in recent days, he is more of a Ghanaian and would want us to believe he loves Ghana, more than Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, our founder and first president.
Since the inception of this administration, governance, which has seen to the tremendous improvement in the lives of citizens of other nations, in Ghana, it has been turned into one huge theater of comical absurdities, where those closest to the "man in charge" are vying to outdo themselves in absurdities and baloney.
Dr. Bawumia, has majored in the minors, instead of the other way round, he is going to be remembered as the vice-president, who spent his time in office, not to make any meaningful impact in the lives of Ghanaians, but to make former president John Dramani Mahama, his punching bag.
The saying that, honour among thieves, does not find expression in this government, members of the government are outdoing each other, they are in a competition of their lives, as to who can steal more.
Ghanaians are expecting Vice-president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is full of life, when he is talking about former president, John Dramani Mahama, to behave like John the Baptist.
John the Baptist, it is recorded in Mark 6: 14-29, spoke truth to King Herod, although he was beheaded and his head served on a silver platter, but the truth he spoke was never buried with him.
A good leader, who is patriotic, does not behave like an Ostrich. Dr. Bawumia, will be remembered as that leader, who stood by and watched while the country is being milked dry.
All that is happening in the country, does not prick his conscience
The first word Dr. Bawumia uttered as a child was Mahama, the first word that comes out of his mind anytime he wakes up is Mahama, and the last word on his mind any day he retires to bed is Mahama.
He has added another to his lexicon apart from Mahama, and the word is incompetence. The meaning of incompetence is being manifested right before his eyes and he is not able to tell his boss to call his boys to order.
One cannot understand what motivates Dr. Bawumia, he seem to spend so much time, telling us about the bad past we had, a past that they created in the minds of Ghanaians. We were fed a lie, it was told over and over, we accepted it as the couple truth.
Almost four years later, Dr. Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party keep reminding Ghanaians of the lies, they told of John Dramani Mahama.
Ex-president Mahama, was given a name and like a dog, hanged on him. It worked in opposition for Dr. Bawumia and his boss, now that they have the mantle of leadership; Ghanaians can now see who the real incompetent people are.
Dr. Bawumia, remains blissfully ignorant on a range of subjects, he is still yet to shed off the opposition cloth, the onerous task of running a country, has overwhelmed him and his boss, they still want to hold onto an ants infested log.
Expectedly, after presidential campaign, when a result is declared, the winning candidate, is to go to work, ostensibly to fix whatever problems, he or she inherited, but in the last three and half years, what we have witnessed is a vice-president, who has been in a campaign mood since his swearing-in.
Instead of speaking up against the ills in the administration, he has turn himself dim yes-men, turning a blind eye and actually condoning the thievery going on in government.
He trembles at the prospect of correcting the president and members of his family, including friends, who form the nucleus of the administration.
Without the risk of being labeled a tribalist, Dr. Bawumia, instead of turning John Dramani Mahama, into a chewing stick, he should ask himself, how many of his kith and kin are occupying the commanding heights of the economy.
How many northerners in the current administration are members of Cabinet?
He has turn himself into a poster boy, doing the dirty work, whiles Akufo-Addo and members of his family, enjoy all the trappings of power.
The government is nothing but a true testament of brazen despotism, naked nepotism, outward bigotry, unrivalled cruelty, and profound wickedness. Indeed, Akufo-Addo, is a sadist.
After almost four years in office, one would think Dr. Bawumia, would have learned something, may be the rudimentary practices of government.
Logically, as the Vice President, you'll think he will help his boss to set the course of this country right.
Because by contrast, Dr. Bawumia, is brilliant, educated, well spoken, civilized, and sophisticated. He is an economist and as such, you will assume that, he vexed in the matters of the economy, but no, he has only majored in the art of running down former president Mahama.
So Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, it is not how much you talk or torment former president Mahama, It is how much you act, walk the talk on the side of telling Akufo-Addo corruption is not only sinking his government but is a dent on the integrity of the country.
