The overlord of Gomoa Pomadze, Ohene Nana Apata Kofi IV, has commended the deputy majority leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, for the facelift he has given the historic Winneba Roundabout in the Central Region.

Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who is a member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament, has been at work, beautifying the Winneba Roundabout ahead of an Extra Ordinary Session of the sub-regional legislative body to be held in Effutu, this October.

The MP, has come under severe criticisms in the Constituency lately with some traditional rulers, accusing him of meddling in some land disputes that date back to the 1960s.

He has also been accused of building a statue at the Winneba Roundabout without consulting the actual land owners ahead of the project.

A police station constructed by him, is said to have been given a name which has sparked some tension in the Constituency because it doesn't tally with recond showing the ownership of the land.

Press conferences and several petitions, have been written about him with some sent to the Presidency; Jubilee House on his conduct.

But the chief, Ohene Nana Apata Kofi IV, has commended the Effutu MP for his hard work and his show of good fate by consulting and collaborating with them on all developmental projects.

Ohene Nana Apata Kofi IV, stated that the Winneba roundabout Beautification project for instance, was done after both himself and the MP had reached a consensus on the project scope and purpose.

The chief further noted that there was same agreement on the construction of the New Winneba Police station.

Ohene Apata Kofi in his concluding remarks, said the people of Gomoa and Effutu, have lived in peace and harmony for so many years and so are not at war with each other, but rather collaborate for their common developmental goals for the people through the good leadership Mr Afenyo-Markin has shown.
