The Herald is informed that the much-anticipated meeting between the Presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama and party founder, ex-President Jerry John Rawlings has finally happened, today.
The meeting which took place at the Ridge residence of Mr. Rawlings essentially discussed who Mr. Mahama has settled on as his running mate for the 2020 Presidential elections.
The Herald is informed by sources close to both men that the atmosphere was "cordial and deeply reflective".
This paper is informed that the search has been narrowed down to a male and the only female in the race, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, former Minister for Education in Ghana and Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast, respectively.
With some others meetings schedule for the day out of his way, Mr. Mahama could soon drop the name of his partner after a crunch meeting with the NDC National Executives Committee (NEC).
Mr. Mahama who is making the selection very consultative is scheduled to meet Alhaji Iddrisu Mahama, the Chairman of the Council of Elders.
He is scheduled to meet with other NDC bigwigs.
