Scores of women within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), have bemoaned over what they described as disrespectful behaviour exhibited by the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, over the past twenty years.

The disgruntled women who recently defected from the NPP to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) said, the past twenty years under the incumbent MP, have been full of insults, intimidation, threat of harm and attack on local businesses among others with little or no development to show in the Assin Central Municipality.

Speaking to the media after the filing of nomination by the NDC Parliamentary candidate for Assin Central, Nurein Shaibu Migyimah, the irate women vowed to campaign vigorously to unseat Kennedy Agyapong.

"We have served Kennedy Agyapong for the past twenty years but we have not gotten anything from his leadership. All we get is insults, threats to collapse people's businesses and so on. He has nothing to show in Assin, even our youth are now engaging in fraudulent activities," they lamented.

Addressing the media after filing his nomination at the municipal office of the Electoral Commission (EC), the NDC Parliamentary candidate for Assin Central Constituency, Nurein Shaibu Migyimah said, he is on a mission to rescue the people of Assin Central from the twenty years of slavery the incumbent MP, Kennedy Agyapong, has subjected the people of Assin into it.

According to him, the time has come for the people of Assin to be emancipated from the oppressive leadership by voting against Kennedy Agyapong and President Akufo-Addo to give way for the new dawn that promotes development in freedom.

"We have waited for twenty years with no development, and now the time has come for all of us to show Kennedy Agyapong and Nana Addo the exit doors so that we can develop our communities and our people especially the youth," He said. Adding that, due to the lack of job in the municipality, most of the youth see cyber crime as their means of survival.

Mr Migyimah, who was accompanied by past and present Constituency executives, as well as some other members of the party, further called on his supporters to stay away from any violent activity and remain focus in their quest to unseat Kennedy Agyapong and also ensure the victory of the former president John Dramani Mahama to embark on his rescue mission from January 2021.
