The former Minister of Inner-City and Zongo Development, has challenged the rank and file of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to put forward any of the cardinal things they made available to the people in the Zongo communities while in government.

Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region and now Minister of State at the Office of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia threw this challenge after a mammoth walk organized by the Madina Constituency Youth wing of the governing New Patriotic Party.

The exercise, saw scores of NPP supporters walked through some principal streets in the La-Nkwantanang municipality namely, Zongo Junction, Market, Police station, Rawlings Park, Taxi Rank, the NPP's party office, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, University of Professional Studies, Polyclinic, PRESEC, Atomic Junction and through Zongo and ended up on the AstroTurf.

"Today we have forty young people picked from the Zongo communities studying medicine in Cuba", he said.

'The love for Zongos is not about who can make the most noise, but what you can do for the betterment of the people living in the Zongo communities", he reminds the NDC.

The NDC over the years, have carried themselves as apostles of Zongos and have been making all manner of statements when it comes to the development of Zongos, he said.

"The NDC, aside the noise, has nothing to show in terms of the development of the Zongos", he alerted.

Zongos under Nana Akufo-Addo's administration, can boast of asphalted roads which were a preserve of the plush residential areas of the country, he noted.

So, let stop the noise and mention the projects that have influenced the lives of the people in Zongos and not just noise, he stressed.

Under the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the people of Zongos have a tailor-made Ministry for the development of Zongos together with an implementing agency called Zongo Development Fund, he stressed.

What did the NDC do when John Dramani Mahama while in government, he quizzes.

"We can go on mention the establishment of the Zongo Development fund which has taken the development of Zongos by storm by offering scholarships to the needy, construction of roads, Information Communications Technology centres, schools, small water systems among others", he said.

Development in the Zongos is not about which party has over the years pitched Zongos against a particular party, but by what the people of the Zongos are seeing now.

"In Madina Zongo we have a multi-purpose Astro-Turf for Maulid (Moslem prayers) and prayer conventions same in Tafo, Wale, Yeji, Walewale, Kyebi, Akim Oda among others to develop talents in the Zongo communities known for playing football in the country", he enumerated

"As a party, we are fully aware of the machinations the NDC has allegedly hatched in the run-up to the December 7, elections and we are keenly watching them if they do anything sinister, we crush them", he warned.

When asked his impressions about the walk, he said he saw people on the streets shouting 'Four More for Nana To do More' adding that the walk has rekindled the love for the party in the Constituency?
