The New Patriotic Party (NPP) continues to receive bashing over its poor performance in office since assuming power in 2017.
Their poor performance which has permeated all facets of the economy, has compelled other political parties to throw their weight behind the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress, as against the New Patriotic Party, as the country inches near the polls on December 7,this year.
The Every Ghanaian Living Everywhere Party ,which is otherwise known as the EGLE party which has been hitting the NPP over it shambolic showing in government, has endorsed the candidature of the NDC Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, with believe that it shares similar social democratic tenets with the NDC.
Addressing a press conference in Accra on Wednesday to officially announce its endorsement of the NDC, the General Secretary of the EGLE party, David Arthur, said they are backing the NDC, because of its track record when it comes to development.
Additionally, he said the endorsement of the NDC is because of the policies of the EGLE party, which coincided with the aspirations which is being prosecuted already by the NDC in terms of infrastructure developments.
For example, he explained that it is these developmental project which were embarked upon by former John Dramani Mahama that made it possible for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to provide relief packages to Ghanaians during the covid-19 pandemic.
He said, if It had not been for President Mahama, who invested in the expansion of Ghana Water Company Ltd, to pump some 40 million gallons and a boost in the power generation , President Akufo-Addo ,would not have been able to give Ghanaians free water and electricity.
The General Secretary who was flanked by the Chairman of the party, Mr Kweku Agyekum Asare, announced that, in furtherance to the endorsement, the party was going to deploy its members across the country to campaign for the NDC.
He among others, said that there was the need to end the reign of the NPP, because of their wanton dissipation of public funds by family and friends of the President.
For the fact that the Nana Addo administration, does not have a single hospital and any university among others to its credit, he urged Ghanaians to vote the NPP out of power, despite borrowing over Ghc140 billion and with nothing to show for it.
The killing of journalists and other unresolved murders, as well as the intimidation and brutalities of individuals are among the other reasons he called for the kicking out of Nana Addo come December 7, which is barely three weeks away.
To the Electoral Commission, he warned them to stay true to the rules of free and fair elections, asking the commission to take a look at what is happening in Nigeria.
The deputy national communications officer of the NDC, Godwin Ako Gunn, who was at the function together with the deputy youth of organizer, Ruth Seddoh, encouraged other minority parties to follow the EGLE party in endorsing and joining the winning NDC team.
