Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources in charge of Mines, George Mireku Duker, has assured Ghanaians that the government, under the vision of President Akufo-Addo and sector Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor, will build a successful value chain for the country's bauxite.

According to him, Mr Abu Jinapor-led leadership is determined that Ghana, will not have to export bauxite abroad and import Alumina for Aluminum back into the Country at a higher cost.

"Together with other stakeholders, we shall, under the vision of H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor build a successful value chain in the exploitation of Ghana's Bauxite such that, Ghana will not have to export Bauxite abroad and import Alumina for Aluminum back into the Country at a higher cost,"he stated.

The Deputy Minister, gave the assurance after he was sworn-in as a member of the Governing Board of the Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Authority (GIADEC).

He said, the Akufo-Addo government is "fixing the backward and forward linkages in the Mining industry to propel economic growth", adding, "As Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources in charge of Mining, I promise to deliver".

The Chairman of the newly constituted Board, Dr Tony Oteng Gyasi on his part, expressed his gratitude and that of the members to the President for the confidence reposed in them.

Other members of the Board are; Michael Ansah, CEO of GIADEC; Martin Kwaku Ayisi, Minerals Commission Representative; Humphrey Ayim Darke, Association of Ghana Industries representative.

The rest are; Abena Osei-Asare, Ministry of Finance Representative; Dr Benjamin Ofosu Adoo, Representative from the Integrated Aluminium Industry; Jaezi Orleans-Lindsey Esq., President's Nominee; Dr Henry Benyah, President's Nominee; Nana Adutwumwaa Dokua, Okyenhemaa, President's Nominee; and Nana Amampene Boateng Twum II (Nyinahinhene), President's Nominee.
