Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has hinted that Thomas Partey may not be fit to feature in the team's Premier League fixture this weekend against Leeds United.
Partey picked up a thigh injury in the Gunners 3-0 loss to Aston Villa two weeks ago before the International break, which ruled the 27-year-old out of Ghana's two games against Sudan in the AFCON qualifiers.
Arteta says Partey is working hard to regain fitness but will not be ready in time for the game on Sunday.
"No, he picked up an injury very early in the game against Aston Villa, he tried to carry on and he wanted to play the second half and we knew it was a significant injury," Arteta said.
"He has done really well, he is working very hard and he wants to be available.
"Hopefully, we can get him back soon but it is an area where we have to be careful and a bit protective with the player." He concluded.
Partey has been impressive for Arsenal since moving to the North-London club on deadline day and was named Man of the Match in Arsenal's Europa League match against Rapid Vienna.
